The main goal of "Who wants to be Italiano?" was to enhance italian language skills and promote cultural integration of Erasmus students. By combining educational elements with engaging quizzes and games, we aimed to create a dynamic and enjoyable learning environment that would empower students with valuable linguistic skills for their Erasmus experience, but also for their future career.
The activity started with a comprehensive Italian lesson by ESN volunteers for more than 30 International students, covering essential italian vocabulary and phrases tailored to everyday life in Italy and academic settings at University of Calabria. Then through interactive discussions and group activities, participants actively engaged in language practice, emphasizing practical communication and acting different scenarios.
The highlight of the activity was the incorporation of quizzes and fun games at the end, designed to test and reinforce words and phrases learned in the first part of the activity in a fun and memorable way. This interactive approach, not only tested participants' language retention, but also provided a platform for friendly competition. At the end only one team won the prize, but everyone learned something new and, most importantly, had fun.
