The aim of Welcome Days is to welcome and guide newly arrived students, facilitating their integration into the University of Basilicata. The initiative aims to make them feel part of the community right away, encourage socialisation through interactive activities and present the services offered by the University and the association, offering support from the very first days of their journey in Basilicata.
On 3 October, the Welcome Days event was held at the Comincenter of the University of Basilicata, dedicated to welcoming incoming students who had just arrived in the city. The initiative, organised to facilitate their initial integration into the university and local community, was also attended by the University's Head of International Relations, who presented the institutional point of view and the University's official welcome. The students were welcomed by the association's staff and volunteers, who introduced them to the Comincenter's structure, the University's services and the activities carried out by the association itself, offering a clear picture of the support that will be provided during their mobility programme. The day took place in an informal and engaging atmosphere: through interactive games, the students had the opportunity to socialise, get to know each other and immediately create a sense of community. Each of them introduced themselves to the group, sharing their country of origin, their reasons for studying abroad and their expectations for their time in Basilicata. At the end of the meeting, all the participants continued to get to know each other and forge bonds during a Lucanian-themed welcome aperitif, designed to introduce them to some of the local gastronomic traditions. Welcome Days was a crucial moment of welcome, support and connection, offering international students a first taste of university and cultural life in our community.
