The aim of the activivity was to sensitize the international students to biodiversity among fauna and flora through a visit to the museum of natural science.
ESNSiena GES organized a visit to the Natural History Museum of Siena, where we had the opportunity to see many exhibitions in different sections, such as:
- Anatomy and Biology : The "Paolo Mascagni" collection contains anatomical preparations made using the metal mercury injection technique in the lymphatic vessels, The "Francesco Valenti-Serini" collection features terracotta models of mushrooms and a lichen herbarium, The zoological section preserves specimens of naturalized vertebrates, skeletons, specimens in alcohol, shells of molluscs and insects.
- Geology: This section collects minerals, rocks and fossils.
