Discovering italian pasta and cuisine traditions, visiting Parma
We had the opportunity to take our erasmus students on a trip to visit the famous Barilla factory.
We left Brescia in the early morning on a bus, that took us directly to the factory. Once we arrived they made us wear protective gear to avoid food contamination. We were introduced to Barilla's long history of pasta making and the company's growth, its current focus on resching CSR targets through smart resource control and limitation of plastic use in pacaging. We also visited the very smart, automatic pasta production line, from making the dough to packing and shipping, giving birth to 1400 tons of pasta a day.
After the successful visit at the Barilla factory our bus drove us to Parma, where we were welcomed by some ESNer of ESN-A.S.S.I. Parma that gave us an amazing city tour and showed us around Parma's historic streets. Toghether we visited the awe-inspiring Parma Cathedral, the elegant Baptistery of Parma, and the renowned Teatro Regio.
