Providing a low-threshold recycling platform within the international community
The Virtual Recycling Room functions as one of the channels of ESN Uni Helsinki Telegram group.
This initiative is an answer to a problem that students face especially at the end of their exchange, when they need to give away things that are not possible to take back home. Other students, especially those that have just arrived in the country, might be looking for new items or clothes to settle in Finland.
It might be difficult at first to use the virtual marketplaces intended for the locals, as internationals often report that because of the language barrier they get no responses from Finnish-speaking users. The Virtual Recycling Room system facilitates the exchanges of items in the low-threshold community of fellow ESN members.
