The goals of the activity were to welcome our Erasmus and help them create new connections and friends by visiting a small village just outside the city of Florence. Moreover, to foster slow tourism by bringing them to a natural and peaceful environment rich in history and culture that is usually unknown to most.
After taking the public transportation from Firenze to Fiesole, we made a quick presentation of ourselves and asked the participants to do the same, to get to know each other. We then started the city tour of Fiesole, explaining its origins, its development, and what it is now. The volunteers took care of guiding the participants around the village and presenting its history with useful information. We then showed the main square, the Church and its surroundings, the Convent of Saint Francis, and the spectacular view from the top. We made several stops to enjoy the panorama and the nature surrounding us in the incredibly peaceful environment provided by Fiesole. The visit ended while watching the archeological area. Our trip continued by explaining the typical food of Fiesole and eating all together from a little family-owned shop. With the bus, we then returned to Florence.
