The goal of the activity was for Erasmus students to discover the surroundings of Plovdiv, enjoy nature and do a hike followed by a BBQ. All of that using ecofriendly transportation.
ESN Plovdiv organized a day trip from Plovdiv to Asenovgrad to explore Bulgarian history and nature while promoting the use of public transportation. The group traveled by train. Upon arrival in Asenovgrad, we stopped at a local supermarket, where students could buy food and drinks. One of the coordinators helped carry the heavier items close to the spot were we were gonna have a BBQ. The rest of the group enjoyed a light hike up to the site. The group had the opportunity to enjoy an historical spot like the Asen ́s Fortress, from outside, during the hike.
Afterward, We set up a barbecue in the nearby mountains. Erasmus students helped make the fire, cook, dance, and take photos of the beautiful surroundings. Before leaving, we collected all our trash to keep the area clean.
