The activity goals were to explore the mountains near our university, discover their beautiful woods and animals and to learn the history of the visited places.
Starting from the university by coach we reached the visitor centre Cupone in the Sila national park. This visitor centre offers the opportunity to see the local fauna such as deers and wolves in the wildlife enclousers. After that we made a 13 Km trekking that brought us to a panoramic view point of the biggest calabrian lake, Cecita. During the walk we ran into lots of interesting places and told their stories to the international students. For example, we described how some old charcoal kilns work and we talked about the main characteristics of the huge dam built to create the artificial lake. According to the students' feedbacks, the activity was a great success and we ended the day tired but satisfied for the experience made.
