Goal of the Activity

- Introduce students to various aspects of Swedish culture

- Include Erasmus students in the organizational process of events by letting them present their own country as part of a new event series called "culture nights". Assist them with issues regarding planning and finances.

- Use different elements (presentation, Kahoot Quiz, Candy-Tasting, songs in Swedish, traditional outdoor games in the park) to make the event more interactive.

Description

Event description on Pretix:

Hej allihoppa,

Celebrate the summer heat by attending this culture night with focus of swedish midsommer celebration!! This is a night where swedish people celebrate that the days are the longest of the year, and by doing that: they are dancing around the midsummer- tree, jumping over gärsgårdar,  playing games, eating and drinking snaps! 💃🎉🍸

Now you have the possibility to celebrate this wonderful tradition here in Frankfurt,  Campus westend!! We are starting in the seminare room with a short presentation about the country and a Sweden quiz on Kahoot (There will be a prize for the winner ;) ) and later we continue by heading to Grüneburgpark for some typical Midsommar outdoor games! 🥳

So, bring some snaps (vodka, liquer or similar) or just some soft drinks and our best summer clothes  ;) (not too nice though, you need too be able to play games in the park of course). We will provide some free Swedish snacks and godis (candy) for you to try 😋

Also, bring some flowers if you wanna learn how to make your own midsommarkrans  :D
Don't miss this opportunity to experience the most typical Swedish tradition ever!

Until then, SKÅL och glad midsommar!!! 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
