The goal of the activity was to promote volunteering and the inclusion of our staff and international students in the local community, and to let the latter ones get to know the Italian Christmas traditions. To reach our goals we went to a nursing home to spend time with the old local guests and play the traditional italian bingo, called Tombola.
We took the train from Venice to go to Mogliano Veneto (a town nearby the city) to spend an afternoon with the retirement house’s residents of Istituto Costante Gris in Mogliano. We played the Italian bingo, called “Tombola” all together. This game is traditionally played during Christmas by all Italian families. The staff coordinated the game palyed by the residents and the international students who won many prizes.
