The goal of the Speed Friending event was to foster meaningful connections and promote intercultural dialogue among participants in a fun, engaging environment. Through structured ice-breaker activities and creative challenges, the event aimed to help participants meet new people, build friendships, and appreciate diverse cultural perspectives, all while encouraging an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
Our Speed Friending event was designed to encourage quick connections and intercultural dialogue. The event started in a city park, where participants were paired up in two lines, facing each other for one-minute conversations. After each round, one line shifted, giving everyone the chance to meet new people. Ice-breaker questions such as "What country would you like to visit the most?", "Why did you choose Košice?" or "If you had a superpower, what would it be?" helped create exciting and fun discussions and supported intercultural dialogue. Afterward, participants were divided into smaller groups for name-remembering games and creative challenges. One of the highlights was a group photo competition, where teams used the entire park to create the most creative group picture. After the event we had voting on our Instagram to choose the best picture. The evening finished at Metropola Bar, where participants relaxed, continued conversations, and participated in a unique version of Bingo, featuring personal characteristics instead of numbers. They had to find a person matching each characteristic and write down their name, with prizes awarded to the winners. Overall, the event was a great success in building new friendships and promoting intercultural dialogue.
