The goal of the activity was to bring the students closer to the victims of the migration in the Mediterranean Sea.
On the afternoon of the 4th of March 2023 we attended the Sit-in organized by the committee "DonneVitaLibertà" for the victims of the Mediterranean shipwreck, a tragedy happened on 26th of February 2023 near the Italian seaside resort of "Steccato di Cutro". Witnesses say up to 200 people were on board. We honored these victims with a standing silence, holding candles as a sign to express condolences to them and their familiars. Then we paid attention to the details of the disaster and to the touching words of a girl who had a personal connection to what happened. Her discourse deeply impressed the students, and they have become more aware of the condition of the migrants who live in fear and danger every day.
