Description

ESN Siegen organized the hearing aid game night during the Social Impact Days events.  The participants spent an evening playing board games under the simulation of hearing impairments.

At the beginning of the evening, there was a short briefing followed directly by the game part of the evening.  To simulate hearing impairment, participants wore noise-cancelling earplugs. To simulate hearing impairment, participants wore noise-cancelling earplugs. These were not taken off to drink, eat or have personal conversations.  After about an hour and a half, the earplugs were removed and the group discussed and exchanged what playing and communicating with hearing impairments felt like for the participants. There was an opportunity to write down feelings and thoughts. There was also some information material on the subject of hearing impairment and deafness.
