This is the first meeting of this activity in 2023, the film selected was Hidden Figures due to, two days ago was the International Women’s Day and this film show the importance of women in history.
The film directed by Theodore Melfi, tells the story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, three African American women working in the segregated department of NASA during 1960s. The three of them must overtake many obstacles to be heard to help John Glenn to be the first American astronaut to make a complete orbit around the Earth.
After the viewing of the film there was a debate between the international students and the coordinators around the ideas showed in the movie.
