Goal of the Activity

The main goal of this activity was to watch together a film with social content and discuss together about it and its representation of social problematics such as racism and homophobia.

Description

In this activity we played the film "Green Book" awarded with 3 Oscars and that reflects the social prejudices that were common in the United Statets in the 60s. Set in 1962, the film is inspired by the true story of a tour of the Deep South by African American classical and jazz pianist Don Shirley and Italian American bouncer Frank "Tony Lip" Vallelonga who served as Shirley's driver and bodyguard.

After watching the film, we discussed about the film and we shared our ideas and opinions about how the film portrays this reality and how this has changed along the years.
