The purpose of the event was to get more familiar with deaf people's issues, to learn basic phrases, and to collect funds that were used to buy hygienic products for Bratsigovo orphanage.
The activity was organized during the Social Impact Days. Our main goal was to collect donations with which to buy hygienic products for the Bratsigovo Orphelinage, as we knew they need this the most and no one help them.
International students and also our volunteers travel and discover new places, but how they will react when they will meet deaf people? How to have a short communication, to ask or to respond to them?
We have decided to collect the donations through this event as both parties have something to give and to get: the participants (international students and ESN volunteers) got more familiar with deaf people's problems and the basics of sign language and we, as organizers, collected a big amount of donations which were used for our cause.
