The primary aim of this initiative is to foster stronger relationships among volunteers and to introduce new members to the diverse ESN sections within the "Coordinamento Due Sicilie." This activity serves as an immersive experience, providing insights into the broader ESN network at a national level. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how the "Coordinamento Due Sicilie" alliance operates, including its core functions, the key roles within the organization, and the structural organization of ESN on local, regional, and national scales.
Through this engagement, new volunteers will not only feel a sense of belonging to the ESN family but also appreciate the collaborative efforts that drive the success of the network. The activity will elucidate the interconnectedness of various sections, the shared objectives, and the collaborative spirit that underpin the ESN’s mission.
This event is designed as a gathering and training opportunity for volunteers from the various ESN sections within the "Coordinamento Due Sicilie." The activity will be structured on several levels, with the goal of fostering mutual understanding, a sense of belonging, and providing a comprehensive overview of how ESN operates at local, regional, and national levels.
Activity Phases:
- Welcome and Introduction:
The event will begin with a warm welcome for the new volunteers, where they will be introduced to members from different sections, and the agenda for the day will be presented. This session will serve as an icebreaker, setting a friendly and inclusive tone for the rest of the activity. - Informational Workshops:
Several interactive workshops will be held, focusing on different aspects of the ESN world. These workshops will cover topics such as:- Mission, Vision, and Values:
An in-depth exploration of ESN’s mission, vision, and the core values that guide its activities. This session will clarify ESN’s commitment to supporting international students and fostering cultural exchange across Europe. - Coordinamento Events:
This session will provide insights into the events organized by the "Coordinamento Due Sicilie" alliance, explaining how these events contribute to the network’s goals and how volunteers can get involved in the planning and execution of regional and national events. - ESNcard and Partnerships: How to Find the Perfect Deal:
A workshop focusing on the ESNcard, the benefits it offers to both students and volunteers, and how to establish and maintain successful partnerships with businesses, organizations, and institutions to bring more value to the network. - Events and Grants: Where and How to Find Some Funding?
In this session, participants will learn about various funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and other financial resources available to support ESN events and initiatives. The focus will be on practical strategies for securing funding. - Bureaucracy for Dummies:
A practical guide to understanding the bureaucratic processes involved in organizing ESN events and initiatives. This session will cover administrative requirements, legal considerations, and how to navigate the paperwork efficiently. - Recruiting & Onboarding: Organizing and Communicating Events:
This session will offer valuable tips on recruiting new volunteers, planning successful events, and communicating effectively within the team. Volunteers will learn how to organize events from start to finish and ensure smooth collaboration among all involved. - Leadership and Delegation: How to Combine the Two:
Focused on developing leadership skills, this workshop will address how to balance leadership responsibilities with the art of delegation. It will provide volunteers with strategies to manage teams, empower others, and maintain a harmonious working environment. - Active Citizenship: Opportunities in Europe:
This session will highlight the various opportunities available for volunteers to engage in active citizenship across Europe, from internships to volunteer programs, and how ESN facilitates access to these opportunities for its members.
