Visit museum and city tour in Regensburg focused on roman history in the city

Description

How often do you think about the Roman Empire?🗡
But how often do you see the Roman Empire?⚔️

🥳ESN provides you with an opportunity to take part in a historical guided Tour about the Roman Empire in Regensburg:

Regensburg is one of the few cities in Germany whose history goes back to Roman times ⏳
In 179,  the Emperor Marcus Aurelius ☀️ had a military camp built here for a complete legion - (6000 soldiers) 🏰
The task was to defend the Danube border against the Germanic tribes living north of the Danube 🪖
The Romans were able to maintain their post for almost 3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ years. And today, almost 2000 years later, we will see the impressive remains of that time 🏛️:

-One part of the massive city wall 🧱
-Porta Praetoria (the only Roman gate in all of Germany besides the one in Trier) 🏰
-AND a whole section with finds and exhibits from the Roman times in the historical museum 🗡️

📍Date: 18.11.2023
