Our goal was to connect with students who will be participating in the Erasmus program next semester. This event, organized by the University of Pisa, was designed to help them understand the deadlines and requirements of the Erasmus application process. Following this, we had the opportunity to introduce them to the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and the AskErasmus project by ESN Italy.
The event was held online via Teams to ensure greater participation from students.
It began with a presentation by the University, highlighting the most important aspects of the Erasmus application process and key deadlines to be aware of, followed by a Q&A session.
After this, we took the floor to introduce the Erasmus Student Network world, explaining what local sections offer to Erasmus students and encouraging students to consider joining ESN upon their return.
At the end of our presentation, we discussed the AskErasmus project of ESN Italy, which allows students about to go on Erasmus to connect with students who have previously studied in their destination city.
Following our presentation, we divided into small rooms based on the destination countries: two rooms for Spain, one for Germany, one for Belgium, one for Portugal, and one for other destinations.
Each room had at least one ESN volunteer who had previously done their Erasmus in that country, along with a University representative for more specific questions.
We shared our experience in those countries, discussing the challenges we faced and the positive aspects we brought back home.
We then answered all the questions and curiosities from the students.
