On the occasion of World AIDS Day, Wednesday, Dec. 6, the association ESN SuiGeneris Basilicata, together with the Potenza Committee of the Italian Red Cross, planned to organize a day of information and awareness on the issue of prevention of risks related to sexually transmitted diseases.
The activities were held on the afternoon of Dec. 6, 2023, at the Macchia Romana University Campus in Potenza. Students were provided with free condoms and informational pamphlets on prevention methods of sexually transmitted diseases. Using a qr-code, students filled out an anonymous questionnaire with questions related to sexually transmitted diseases so that a statistical survey could be conducted on the level of information among young people regarding the topic. In addition, students were able to ask and answer any doubts and concerns about this issue, interacting directly with the volunteers present.More than 300 students were reached thanks to this awareness campaign.
