-Learn how to make cappelletti, a typical pasta from Ravenna; experience a typical Italian Sunday lunch; make new connections in an authentic and traditional setting
Our Pasta Masterclass was a way for international students in Ravenna to experience a typical Italian Sunday lunch and the culinary traditions of Ravenna - especially cappelletti.
We started with a hands-on demonstration by a grandmother from Romagna on how to make cappelletti dough, and then we emulated it, even using a centuries-old rolling pin passed down from generation to generation.
Finally, we learned how to fill and close cappelletti with their typical shape and waited until they were cooked to eat them all together at the table. A typical pinzimonio, piadina with cold cuts, stuffed zucchini from grandma's garden and finally a tiramisu were also served at the Sunday lunch.
This event filled our hearts with joy because it was like being with family: everyone united by an Italian tradition that has no boundaries.
