Goal of the Activity

The goal of our events is to help students get to know the city and it's surroundings.

Also we want to bring them together to find new friends and get to know other cultures, for this we organize different events like parties, trips, sports events and many more.

Description

We published the event with this description:

    Short description

The tour around the Osterseen & Fohnsee lakes near Iffeldorf is a beautiful hike for the whole family, even with strollers. It runs on consistently good paths and always offers a beautiful view of the Alps. You rarely walk directly along the lake itself, but the nature and fauna are definitely worth a walk. In addition, the "Waldhaus am Fohnsee" invites you to stop for a bite to eat. However, you should not underestimate the 11 km long hike, even though it has almost no inclines. We recommend the round trip clockwise and with the "Fohnsee". Alternatively, you can skip the Fohnsee and shorten the tour by about 30 minutes.

Route description Osterseen circuit

From the parking lot we follow the path towards the lakes and always follow it. After some time this leads to a tarred road which we follow to the left. Now we always follow the signs "Lauterbach" around the Ostersee.

In Unterlauterbach (private clinic area) we continue to follow the path through the area and a little after the clinic we turn right from the road (at a bench & signs) onto a wide hiking trail. This we follow, later briefly parallel to the railroad tracks, the view is now super!

From the parking lot we go down to the lake - We can decide whether we go clockwise or counterclockwise around the Eibsee. We choose the typical clockwise variant and have a very nice view of the idyllic lake and the many small islands of the Eibsee (in total even 8 islands) right at the beginning. There is actually not much more to say about this beautiful walk in Garmisch, we always follow the main path and enjoy the peace and idyll that this lake radiates.

We come across some signs (Badeplatz Osterseen) at which we still go nothing right but stay up and enjoy the view. At the end of the pasture we go right briefly downhill (Badeplatz Osterseen) and then left into the forest.

We follow always further the way up to a junction, at which we keep left in the direction of "Fohnsee". You can also walk directly along the Fohnsee, but this path is very rooty and not suitable for strollers.

At the Fohnsee we reach again a wide road, pass the camping site and reach the

"Waldhaus am Fohnsee" with a large terrace and simple kitchen.

Then we continue to follow the road to Iffeldorf, here we take a narrow path to the right - we follow this and after the church we turn right downhill on stairs. Those with strollers go left here and on the Jägergasse to the parking lot.
