Goal of the Activity

The goal of the activity was to show the Erasmus one of the main perks of Parma, its importance in the musical and opera sector

Description

ESN ASSI Parma organizes events to bring them to enjoy one of the best tradition of Parma, Italian Opera.

Italian Opera has its origins during the XVII century in Florence, when a great show with singers and musicians was organized to celebrate the wedding between Maria de' Medici and the french king. This kind of performance was so loved by the audience that it spread throughout all central Europe. Famous are the so called ""arie"", where characters of the play express their feelings in a passionate and powerful way; and equally famous is the cathartic effect that such plays have on the audience: by the end of the night you will feel reborn!

One of the greatest Opera writers of all times comes from Parma, from Busseto to be specific: Giuseppe Verdi.
To honour the masterpieces of this great composer and writer, every year Parma hosts the ""Verdi Festival"", one of the most important Opera festivals in the whole country!
An during such a great event we take them to see one of Verdi's great compositions: the ""Simon Boccanegra"" preview!
