Discover the cultural, folkloristic and natural sicilian heritage of Noto and Marzamemi, joining the "Infiorata" and visiting also the beautiful Marzamemi.
Our volunteers of Esn catania, brough our erasmus students to Noto e Marzamemi for a one day trip to discover the Sicilian baroque and to relax and chill. In the morning we did a city tour walking trough the streets rich of art of the City of Noto (part of the UNESCO heritage from 2002). We have stopped by the cathedral, the church of Montevergine, the Nicolaci palace, the main square and the ancient door of the City; but our main purpose was to see the "infiorata" a special flower festival (done only once a year on the third weekend of may) during which the artists will create 16 drawings with flowers, in the streets. It's usually intended as a welcoming for the spring and every year has its own theme. 2024's edition was the 45th and the theme was inspired by the Italian composer Puccini on the 100th anniversary of his death.
In the afternoon we have gone to Marzamemi, famous for the beautiful beach and sea, we have wondered arround the alleys and then stopped by the beach to relax and swimming in the sea.
