The goal of the activity was to inspire and empower university students by promoting emotional resilience, personal growth, and a sense of community through the sharing of lived experiences. By offering a platform where students could express their fears, hopes, and challenges, the initiative sought to dismantle the stigma around vulnerability and failure. The 2025 edition of the tour, centred around the message "Nobody is Alone", encouraged participants to reflect on the importance of meaningful connections in overcoming personal and academic difficulties.
The event "#NonCiFermaNessuno" is part of a nationally recognised motivational campaign launched in 2014 by Italian TV personality and social advocate Luca Abete. Hosted at the University of Messina, the session took place in the Aula Magna of the university’s central campus, bringing together students for an impactful and engaging experience focused on dialogue, self-expression, and mutual support.
During the event, Luca Abete led a dynamic talk-show style format featuring eight interactive segments in which university students themselves were the main speakers. These young individuals openly shared their personal stories, reflecting on difficulties they had encountered during their academic or personal lives, and on how they found the strength to face those challenges.
The initiative functioned as a communication laboratory, encouraging active listening and emotional honesty. Through discussion and storytelling, participants explored themes such as anxiety, self-doubt, motivation, and the search for purpose. The 2025 campaign’s core message that loneliness often stems from a lack of genuine connection rather than from the absence of people resonated strongly in a digital age where virtual interactions can sometimes obscure deeper human bonds.
The campaign, supported by the Medal of Honour from the President of the Italian Republic and sponsored by the Ministry of University and Research and the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), serves as a testament to the power of collective resilience and the value of solidarity in academic environments.
