The aim is to support a family in need by collecting and buying things they lack in everyday life and making their Christmas a peaceful and happy time they deserve. The best thing about this project is that every single person can make a contribution to it.
Have you ever heard about the Noble Gift, in Polish "Szlachetna Paczka"?
It’s one of the biggest social projects in Poland, and we could easily say that it’s one of the gentlest actions that makes the world a better place. The aim is to support a family in need by collecting and buying things they lack in everyday life and making their Christmas a peaceful and happy time they deserve. The best thing about this project is that every single person can make a contribution to it. For this reason, we will be endlessly happy and grateful if you join!
This year ESN Kraków United is helping Mrs Krystyna.
History of the family: Mrs. Krystyna is a strong and independent lady who lost her husband when she was 30. She raised two kids and finished building their house by herself. Now she lives in her own room in a house with some of her family. She does all her work alone, like cleaning and cutting wood for her stove. She survives on a pension from her deceased husband, amounting to 1748 PLN. Despite expenses for heating, electricity, and medicine totaling 856 PLN, she is left with 891 PLN to live on. She even tries to buy something for her grandchildren. Mrs. Krystyna likes to help others and doesn't talk much about what she needs for herself. She is proud of raising her children and seeing her grandkids grow.
On 13th day our Volonteers packed all the gifts up and two of them drove to small village next to the Cracow, named Myślenice, where they left our gifts. The following day main Coordinator, who is out of our organisation, brought all the staff to Mrs Krystyna, which made her so happy :)
