By virtue of the anti-racist movements occurred in America and all over the world. following the George Floydd's death, we felt to devote a night to the fight against social injustices, abuses and racism.
We made an home-cinema event in a private house of an ESNers. We saw the projection on a ground pillows under the stars. The choosen film was "The help": A story of a white girl who wrote, in 1960, in a strongly racial and patriarchal society, and with any support from the community, a book that takes its cue and tells the story of a black maid's life working for nobles white families. Before the film we enjoyed an aperitif.
The film was pleasant to watch, not heavy, despite the demanding theme. We were unable to create a debate because Erasmus people needed to return home with a bus, so we needed to close the event before the expected.
