Goal of the Activity

The primary goal of the “Membership Evening” was to formally welcome Erasmus students to our community and provide them with their ESN Cards, an essential tool for accessing a wide range of benefits and support throughout their exchange experience. This event was designed to foster a sense of belonging and help international students start building friendships early in their stay. We aimed to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where participants could meet each other, connect with local ESN volunteers, and feel more confident navigating their new environment. Another key objective was to introduce students to the services and opportunities provided by the Erasmus Student Network, including travel, discounts, cultural activities, and academic support. By distributing the ESN Cards in person, we ensured that students had the chance to ask questions and understand the full value of their membership. Additionally, the evening served as a soft introduction to our future events and created a positive first impression of our organization. Overall, this activity was designed to break the ice, build community spirit, and ensure that Erasmus students feel supported, informed, and excited for the journey ahead.

Description

The “Membership Evening” took place at Asterix, a cozy and welcoming local pub that provided the perfect setting for our first gathering with the Erasmus students. The event began with a warm welcome from our ESN team, who introduced themselves and explained the structure of the evening. Students were then invited to collect their ESN Cards, which had been carefully prepared and organized for easy distribution. Throughout the evening, students had the opportunity to mingle, engage in conversations, and start building new friendships in a relaxed and informal setting. Our volunteers facilitated introductions and encouraged interaction between attendees, helping to ease any initial nervousness or language barriers. Informational materials were available for those who wanted to learn more about upcoming events and the benefits of the ESN Card. Music played softly in the background, creating a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. The event struck a balance between practical organization and social engagement, offering both valuable resources and memorable experiences. Many students expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and the chance to connect with others right from the start of their Erasmus adventure. The evening ended with a sense of anticipation for future events and a strong sense of community among participants.
