Goal of the Activity

The aim of the event was to promote the Erasmus+ programme and its relation to civic engagement, political participation, and European citizenship.

Description

The Italian National Agency Erasmus+ INDIRE, in collaboration with the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, organised a two-day national seminar on civic engagement and international mobility. A conference was held on the first day at the Savoia Excelsior Palace Hotel in Trieste, to which took part national and regional institutions. Volunteers from both ESN Trieste and ESN Udine were invited to attend to the conference, during which topics like the internationalization of schools, higher education institutions, and the job market were addressed. The conference was followed by round table discussions to share experiences and best practices on mobility and civic engagement. The second day the volunteers were invited to accompany National Agency staff during their visits to some high schools in the region in order to talk about the Erasmus+ program, European citizenship, and experiences abroad. The event took place in the framework of the PEACE - Participation Erasmus Alumni for Civic Engagement project, which is coordinated by INDIRE and involves other 11 Erasmus+ National Agencies.
