The goal of the activity was to raise awareness about blindfolded people and the importance of having inclusive exhibitions
We partecipated to the "Love is Blind/Blind for Love" exhibition by Caroline Lepinay, present in Siena under the patronage of Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti. The exhibition offers a series of tactile creations about the legend of Cupid and Psyche, and it has been created with the aim to discover a new way of seeing, to heighten awareness on the need to look using not only sight but also other senses, to be more receptive to the people around us and to overcome the barriers of diversity. To do this, and in respectance to the Covid-19 rules present in our country, we have been divided in groups of 4 people, and, blindfolded, we were guided by a blind person that could explain better the impressions we had touching the different creations and what they stand for. We could in this way experience art through multi-sensoral stimuli and live the experience of the exhibition as blindfolded people.
