participants
The goal of this activity was to raise awareness on the reality of people with physical disabilities.
First we made a presentation about some painters with physical disabilities and showed off their art. We then divided the room in sections, for example, a) painting blindfolded, b) with tied arms, c) without using hands having a brush between the face and the shoulder, d) again without using hands but using only the mouth and e) using a brush stuck to the wrist. We selected five different paintings from the ones shown in the initial presentation and assigned each to a different group of students. They then had to go through all of the sections to finish their painting.
Outcomes
The international students really enjoyed the event, having the experience of understanding the reality of some artists who do not let themselves be defined by their disabilities. They really liked the atmosphere that was created, including the playlist we played. In general, they would like us to do more events with this vibe. The limited number of erasmus was a good call.
