Goal of the Activity

The event aimed to create a relaxed setting for Erasmus students to practice languages, engage in cultural exchange, and socialize.

Description

On November 28, 2024, ESN organized a Language Tandem at Jayson Pub, led by a new ESN member. Preparation included printing icebreaker questions and flags representing the languages and nationalities of participants, which were placed on tables. Arriving 40 minutes early, the organizer familiarized themselves with the venue, secured tables, and set up the materials. The venue, though new to ESN, proved ideal for such activities, as it offers ample space before 10 PM without requiring reservations.

The event began with approximately 6 Erasmus participants (mostly Spanish), joined by a few ESNers, making a total of 10–12 people. Everyone sat at a single table, speaking Italian, English, and Spanish interchangeably. Icebreaker questions helped start conversations, and the group later transitioned to playing "Truth or Dare," which sparked lively interactions and ensured everyone felt involved.

The evening was characterized by great engagement, laughter, and a welcoming atmosphere. The group stayed until the pub closed at 1:30 AM, marking the event as a small but meaningful success.
