Incentive the mutual understanding among people from different cultures
Language “teachers” were recruited a couple of days before the event, and were prompted to prepare some extra materials for teaching basics of their language to different people. Some volunteers decided to prepare extra materials, some other volunteers just showed up to have people practicing their mother tongue. As an extra incentive and for further conversation practice, we prepared some blank sheets of paper with a couple of phrases in English that visitors could try to fill in together with the language teachers.
During the event itself, language teachers were sat in different tables, with an indication of their language. This way, visitors could stop by different tables to practice different languages and talk to different people.
