Goal of the Activity

The aim of the Kolosko Statue Hunt is to celebrate the artistic legacy of Miklós Kolosko, one of Hungary’s most imaginative sculptors, by encouraging participants to explore Budapest through his public artworks. The event seeks to combine art appreciation, urban exploration, and community engagement, guiding participants on an interactive journey across the city to discover Kolosko’s statues, learn their stories, and experience the cultural richness of Budapest in a playful and educational way.

Description

The Kolodko Statue Hunt is an engaging cultural journey through Budapest, dedicated to exploring the whimsical and thought-provoking works of sculptor Mihály Kolodko. Participants will be guided by our experienced mentors, who will lead small groups through the city’s streets and parks in search of Kolodko’s remarkable statues.

At each stop, participants will enjoy a brief historical and cultural presentation, uncovering the stories, symbolism, and social messages behind each artwork. Through these interactive moments, the event brings to life Kolodko’s artistic vision and the rich cultural heritage of Budapest itself.

Blending art appreciation, storytelling, and exploration, the Kolodko Statue Hunt invites everyone — locals and visitors alike — to experience the city in a new and inspiring way.
