International Day Against Homophobia shouldn't last just one day as the name would suggest, and we should oppose acts of discrimination every day. Pride Month is just around the corner and, as a federation, we can show the entire Poland or even Europe that we don’t turn a blind eye to the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and its causes. Taking the “Unity in diversity, diversity in unity” to heart, we shall remember that each and every one of us is beautiful and exceptional in their own unique way, and we all have the right to express that in our own way.
The “Reminders” series was created to shed light on the importance of the causes behind the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Sadly, Poland has been declared the most homophobic country in Europe, and we wanted to make sure that our students know they are fully accepted as they are and celebrate their true selves. As ESN UAM Poznań, we want to make every member, Buddy and Erasmus student feel welcome regardless of their gender and sexuality. After all, love does not have a gender and rainbow doesn’t offend anyone.
