Italian Workshop

The event took place at Timeless Area in Ancona the 5th of April. The meeting was in a bar, without any mandatory fee but just a strong suggestion to eat or drink something in the place that hosted us. Four ESN Ancona Italian volunteers managed almost 30 international students splitting them in 4 groups according to their nationality (mixing different nationalities), one for each Italian volunteer.  The topic of the day was "typical Italian gestures". ESN volunteers had prepared some GIFs before the event with a few volunteers, "very knowns" among our local network, simulating divers typical Italian gestural expression and acting in some voiceless situations. During the event, each volunteer sent at his group one of these GIFs of which intarnatiol students had to guess the signification. We talked about 20 gestures then we started to talk (always in Italian when it was possible) with the students about similar gestural habits in their countries and we continue automatically in some general convefrsation (always in Italian with the help of our volunteers). his event is one and the last (for this year) of a series of events with the goals of help students to improve their Italian level and culture knowledge with the help of Italian volunteers while spending a great time with other international students, meet new people and make new friends. Trying to push them to go out of their comfort zone and get over the fear of speaking Italian in public in this safe zone, we hope to have helped students to talk Italian during their mobility and get the most out of their Erasmus life.
