Teaching a part of italian culture that is somewhat overlooked through the activity of playing a quiz game
We all know italians use their hands a lot to speak, but almost nobody takes the time to explain what those gestures are or what they mean. Ita(li)AMO was a quiz game that we designed in order to make international students learn italian gestures, while also having fun.
We prepared a canva presentation and split the participants into two teams, making them guess the meaning of each of the gestures shown to them before revealing it.
We also gave a prize to the winning team, and a consolation prize for the losing one: both received a pack of spaghetti.
It was a great way to introduce the students to a part of our culture that is often overlooked and taken for granted.
