Goal of the activity was to get to know a different culture highlighting the differences and the similarities that unite us. It was a bonding trip as well ,among the ESNers but also the international students, reinforced by the fact that our mobile phones were "outparted".
Starting from Alexandroupolis, we arrived to Istanbul by a private van and started exploring. There were some walks through the city getting to know the local food stores and customs of the people, like music and dances on turkish songs. Of course the visits on some main mosques couldn't be missing, like Hayia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. We also visited the Topkapı Palace and the Galata Tower. The Grand Bazaar was also in our list and we really enjoyed the colors of the fabrics, the spices and the herbs. Finally on our way back we took a stop in Tekirdağ, located on the north coast of the Sea of Marmara.
