Social integration and bridging the gap between local and international friends.
Our friend program is a great way to get to know new cultures and people, practice new languages, form everlasting friendships and participate in events.
We do our best to match the friends and international students on the basis of language, hobbies and other interests
Locals and international degree and exchange students sign up. We match the friends into pairs based on their interests. There are local students, international students, and local families involved, some of them have been a part of the program for a long time as we do this every semester.
We organize a first meeting where they get to know each other and we explain what the program is about, and gave suggestions for what the pairs could do together. The participants learnt about new cultures and languages and got to know new people. This programme helped the international students to integrate in Finnish culture and community.
