The activity had different objectives. It was a way to share experiences, to practice French and to learn new vocabulary related to food/cooking (for the international student), it also develop organisation skill (find a recipe, make a list of ingredients, explain the recipe to all the person present during the activity), to include people with autism (help them create the recipe and include them in the activity).
A week before the activity, the international student from Norway had to find a recipe (sugar-based), do a list of ingredients and give the recipe to the partner. The day of the activity, we present ourselves to one another, and cooked what the international student proposed. We also did games ("where do you come from?", showing on a map of the world where everyone was from) when we were waiting for the buns to be ready. After that, we ate all the Skolebørd.
The international student developed organisation skills and speaker skills. The international student led the activity from start to finish.
On the other hand, it was a moment where everyone shared its experience of cooking and people were helping one another when it was needed. Everyone also learned how to help, take and behave toward someone with autism.
