The main goals from this activity are the integration of international students and the promotion
and share of different cultural realities and create bonds with the ESN Unicatt Family. In addition to that, the Erasmus students had the
opportunity to explore a new city, Bergamo and go hiking in the surrounding mountains. Meanwhile raise student awareness of sustainable lifestyle both from: Food stand point and NO waste standpoint
During this event, we invited international students to spend a weekend with their peers and with ESN volunteers who organized a series of interactive activities based on ice-breaking games and other ludic initiatives. More in detail, the program of the weekend was the following: departure by bus from Milan on Friday morning, city tour of Bergamo and lunch, arrival at the villa by bus, presentation of the weekend and of the participants. After dinner we organized "Guess the song" and later we started a karaoke party. On Saturday morning after a restorative breakfast we walked along one of the many trails in the surrounding mountains and then we had lunch (lunch boxes/ sandwhich) . Once at home, the students had a snack with fruits, biscuits and juice. Later we started the gymkana (the international students were divided in
groups, each playing a different game every time). After dinner there was the " dress your initial party". On Sunday morning after breakfast the students left the house by bus.
Moreover during this event we provided vegan and vegetarian options, we got some vegetebles and fruit from an association that recover food before it is thrown away by the merchants (RECUP) this option allowed us to have a wide variety of vegetables and fruits and to contribute to Zero Waste, we did the waste sorting and we made the international students aware of how to do it. We asked to the international students to take from home their own water bottle, this helped us to reduce the use of plastic sensitively. Then, before leaving the house we gave to all the international students and volunteers the food and beverage that were left over from the weekend.
