Description

Szia barátaim!👋🏻

ESN Bochum is back with its international theme nights - and we start with the Hungarian night!🤩🇭🇺
We offer you some Hungarian food prepared with love, a quiz about the Hungarian culture, great Hungarian music and maybe some Hungarian dance moves! 🕺🏻

The event's objectives were diverse, focusing on countering stereotypes, embracing cultural differences, showcasing cultural heritage, fostering intercultural dialogue, promoting social and cultural integration within the local community, supporting language learning, and encouraging slow and sustainable tourism.

The atmosphere at Euroeck was filled with excitement as attendees gathered for a night of Hungarian-themed activities. The evening featured a delightful array of Hungarian food, meticulously prepared to provide an authentic culinary experience. Participants engaged in a fun and educational quiz about Hungarian culture, enjoyed great music, and even tried out traditional Hungarian dance moves. The event was designed to offer a comprehensive cultural immersion, making it a memorable experience for all who attended.

The Hungarian Night attracted a diverse audience, including volunteers, international students, local university students, and members of the local community. In total, there were 20 local participants, 30 international students, and 8 coordinators. This mix of attendees highlighted the event's goal of fostering intercultural dialogue and integration within the community. The participation fee was set at 6€ for those without an ESN Card and 4€ for cardholders, ensuring accessibility for a broad range of students.

The event successfully achieved its primary objectives. Attendees left with a greater appreciation for Hungarian culture, having enjoyed an evening that broke down cultural stereotypes and promoted a sense of unity and understanding. The positive aspects of the event included high engagement levels, the successful promotion of Hungarian heritage, and the strong sense of community that was fostered.

In terms of environmental sustainability, the event scored medium on responsible consumption and zero waste, as well as sustainable travel and mobility. Efforts were made to minimize waste and encourage sustainable practices, aligning with the broader goals of promoting responsible consumption and environmental consciousness.
