Goal of the Activity

The idea was to organise a sports day so that ESN volunteers and Erasmus students could discover Belgium's only National Park. Hiking is often difficult to access in Belgium, so this was an opportunity for them to take a day trip away from the city.

Description

Hello to all,

First of all, thank you for registering for the first national event of ESN Belgium which will take place on Saturday 4 March. As mentioned on the event, it will be a hike in Maasmechelen in the Terhills National Park.

Here is the schedule of the bus that will pick you up in the different cities (there might be some delay due to traffic on the road but please be on time). The time mentioned will be the time the bus will leave, so I would ask you to be there 15min before.

Gent 8am: Pr. Clementinalaan 125, 9000 Gent, Belgium
Brussels 9:05 am: Rue de France 40, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Belgium
Leuven 10:00 am: Veilingweg, 3001 Leuven, Belgium
Liège 11:15 am: Rue du Plan Incliné 145, 4000 Liège, Belgium
Maasmechelen 12:15 am: Joseph Smeetslaan 280, 3630 Maasmechelen

The bus will pick us up at 5:30pm from Terhills, Zetellaan 70, 3630 Maasmechelen.

How will the day go?

Once we arrive at the site, we will meet the two rangers who will be the two guides for the hike. You will be divided into two groups of 35 people. We will start the hike with a walk in line in the woods of Mechelse heid and then we will arrive at terhills where we will climb the 3 hills (the last one being the one you may have seen on our poster or on google). Having been there before, it's a great spot for your next instagram post ;)
The hike is 15 km long and will last more or less 4,5 hours (breaks included).
