participants
To show international students the natural beauty of our region and have them experience a typical lunch in "osmiza".
The participants visited the Grotta Gigante (Giant Cave), a huge natural cave located near Trieste and learnt about the process that leads to the creation of caves through erosion caused by water. Afterwards, they had lunch in an osmiza (a traditional place to eat local products, such as cheese, bread, eggs, cold cuts and wine, made by the owners of the osmiza). Osmiza is an important element of the local culture and it is very cherished by people from Trieste, especially in spring when the weather gets warmer, since it is a great way to spend time with friends and enjoy a view of the natural landscape and taste fresh, handmade products.
