The goal of this activity, which was done in video form, was to raise awareness to the problem of plastic waste, and to provide fun alternatives to reuse common plastic items we all have or have used. Furthermore, it also intended to show that there are alternatives that can be made at home to substitute products we generally use, like face masks/body scrubs.
Through the video, the participants learned how to make different face scrubs and masks using simple ingredients, how to make a recycling bin out of plastic bags, and how to make a simple composting bin.
The activity was provided in video form (link above). Our volunteers filmed themselves making the different crafts so as to provide a visual element that participants could follow. Afterwards, the different videos were put together in a bigger video, along with the written instructions, step-by-step.
The feedback was generally positive. Some of the participants ended up following some crafts and making them at home.
