The goal of our events is to help students get to know the city and it's surroundings.
Also we want to bring them together to find new friends and get to know other cultures, for this we organize different events like parties, trips, sports events and many more.
We published the event with this description:
Are you interested in classical antiquity? On the Königsplatz, in the heart of Munich, you will find the State Collections of Antiquities and the Glyptothek. The two museums rank among the leading international museums for antique art. Here Greek, Roman and Etruscan masterpieces can be encountered in a quality and abundance that can otherwise be found in only very few places in the world – in Berlin, Paris, London or New York.
We will visit the Glyptothek, the only museum on the world solely dedicated to ancient sculpture. The antiques are free-standing before the plain brick walls of the vaulted museum halls, the architecture of which is modelled on Roman bath buildings. Large windows, which open up the walls down to the floor onto the inner courtyard of the four-winged building, provide for continuous daylight. On sunny days, therefore, you can encounter the marble figures in an atmosphere that could not have been more impressive even at the original sites in sanctuaries or the market places of ancient cities.
Later, we will head to the TUM Mensa for lunch, which is right nearby (lunch is not included in the registration fee).
