Description

official event description:

Join us for a fun Games Night!🎲

Do you like to play games and also want to learn more about culture shocks? Then this games night might be the perfect event for you. We will start with a simulation game that simulates the feeling you get when you come into a new culture. Afterward, there will be time to talk about personal experience and we can play some more games. Feel free to bring your favorite games.

About the game:

The participants were divided into several groups and sat at different tables with their groups. Every group gets a deck of cards as well as a sheet of paper with game instructions. They carefully read the instructions and played a round while being allowed to talk. Then they played another round without being allowed to speak. The winners of the second round of each group table swapped places with each other. Without talking, everyone played another round with a new winner, who again swapped places with the other winners. While playing, the participants found out that every table played a similar game with slightly different rules. Every time a participant gets to a new table the whole group at the table needs to figure out how to play. After some rounds, the groups at the tables were very mixed and the original groups completely split up. It was very interesting to see how the groups played and which rules were followed.
