Our aim vas to give international students the chance to taste frittelle, the typical Venetian Carnival dessert.
Volunteers chose some good pastry shops to taste traditional frittelle, or frìtole in Venetian, which are made with a batter of flour, eggs, milk and sugar, sultanas and pine nuts, fried and served with a sprinkling of caster sugar (filled with cream, zabaglione, pistachio and chocolate). In order to taste the best frittelle, ESN Venice has organised a tour to discover the most typical Venetian frittelle, going to taste them directly in the best pastry shops of the city. We walked towards the pastry shops in calli full of masked people in the magic atmosphere of Carnival. At the end participants could to vote for the best frittella in Venice!
