Goal of the Activity

Flea markets offer a range of advantages, including:

  1. Promoting recycling and sustainability: they give a second life to used items, preventing them from ending up in landfills and reducing the production of new goods.
  2. Finding unique items: they offer the opportunity to discover vintage, rare, or handmade items that cannot be found in traditional stores.
  3. Creating a community atmosphere: they become a meeting place for people of all ages and backgrounds, fostering socialization and the discovery of new interests.
  4. Offering a fun and convenient shopping experience: in our case, with a token currency.
  5. Fundraising: in our case, we have organized a stand with ESN L'Aquila gadgets and drinks, inviting all participants to make a monetary donation to help ensure a day of sports at a local sports field.
Description

The flea market was a fantastic event designed to help new international students settle into our city!
. The market was held in our office, in two consecutive days.
. The participants of the event were:

Outgoing Students: they could bring any items you'd like to donate, and even leave a friendly message for the future owner! The number of tokens they received depend on the items you contribute (more valuable items like bikes or furniture will earn them more tokens).
Incoming Students: they could browse the market using tokens they received upon arrival (3 by default). These tokens allow you to claim a limited number of items.
Bonus: Anyone could bring and take items freely, regardless of the token system.
. The Currency: In our Flea Market, Tokens act as the symbolic currency for the market.
