Make known one of the most important religious and popular traditions of the city of Bari, participating in the celebrations in honor of the Patron Saint.
May 7th (Day of the Caravel)
We took part in the first evening of the "Festa di San Nicola" with a group of Erasmus students, attending the traditional Caravel parade, one of the most iconic reenactments of Bari's cultural heritage.
After meeting at Gelateria Gentile, we moved towards Teatro Piccinni, where we watched the historical procession and the large caravel carrying the statue of the Patron Saint through the city streets.
The event took place in a captivating atmosphere filled with historical costumes, music, and strong public participation.
May 8th (Arrival of the Saint and Fireworks)
The second day focused on the most symbolic moment of the celebration: the arrival of the Saint by sea.
We met in front of Teatro Petruzzelli to follow the procession of Saint Nicholas's statue, carried to Molo Sant'Antonio.
After the arrival, we watched the evening fireworks show, which lit up Bari's seafront, accompanied by traditional lights and music.
The festive spirit, the presence of thousands of people, and the magical setting made the evening a unique opportunity to fully experience one of the city’s most cherished and deeply rooted traditions.
